Hi, I'm Sofy — Sofia Yaneli Jaramillo Bustos. I'm 14, I paint in Ecuador, and I fell in love with the restless brushstrokes of Vincent van Gogh. I paint canvases, fill sketchbooks and turn sneakers and jackets into moving pictures.
I was born in Ecuador, between volcanoes and very blue skies. I started painting when I was little, and at twelve I saw The Starry Night for the first time — I couldn't stop looking at how the sky moved.
Since then I paint with thick, curving brushstrokes and colors that feel alive: night blues, sunflower yellows and the warm ochres of the Andes. I also paint sneakers and denim jackets, because art should go out into the street too.
Every piece is made by hand, and every commission is a conversation.
Emily from Corpse Bride, painted by hand on the back of a denim jacket, one brushstroke at a time. Sneakers, jackets and tees can carry your story too.
“Look what my student managed to create. You have no idea how much creativity and talent Sofi has.”
A portrait of your pet, your city under a starry sky, sneakers that look like sunflowers — tell me about it.
